Stay-in-Bed

Stay in Bed steps as shown to the Gorbea Family

StepsEdit

  1. Make bedtime calm and soothing
  2. Place child in bed, kiss goodnight
  3. Sit on floor, no eye contact (in some episodes, such as the Wilson-Knutson Family episode, they skip this step)
  4. If child gets out of bed, return child to bed, say goodnight
  5. If child comes out again, return child to bed; no more conversation. Repeat until successful!

Advanced StepsEdit

The following steps are if the child is at the stage to sleep on his/her own.

  1. Make bedtime calm and soothing
  2. Place child in bed, kiss goodnight and leave room
  3. The first time the child gets out of bed, return child to bed and say "It's bedtime, darling"
  4. The second time the child gets out of bed, return child to bed and just simply say "Bedtime"
  5. The third and subsequent times the child gets out of bed, return child to bed and don't say anything.
  6. If the child is sleeping, you're done and successful.
