A truck driver, he is on the road 3 to 4 days a week. When he's at home, he doesn't help around the house. Instead, he hangs out in the backyard or garage.
He and Amy don't agree about family planning. Dale does not want to have more children and feels 10 is more than enough. Meanwhile, Amy is determined to keep going until she meets her goal of 12 children, and doesn't respect Dale's wishes.
He yells when he disciplines the kids. When Corban writes a note that says, "I hate Addison very much," Dale keeps yelling, "THROW IT AWAY NOW" at him. He is also an alcoholic. Amy states that there were often times that Logan would have to step in for Dale because of his drinking (for example, by assisting Amy take all the kids to soccer while Dale was passed out in the back of the van). After this confession, Jo has Dale get rid of his beer stashes throughout the house and garage, and takes him to his first support group meeting.
He was 50 years old when appeared on Supernanny and he is now 59 in 2017.

Driver Blames Company for Drunkenness - Courthouse News Service, 7/6/2009. This explains that Dale sued his employer, YRC Worldwide, because he was called in to work on his day off. He was drunk, so he asked for time to sober up but was told to come in within the next three hours. When he did, he was fired for drunkenness after failing a urine test.
